Wednesday, 10th December, 2008
Colchester, UK. February 20th, 2008 - Edison Schools UK has appointed Nick Page to oversee development of its school improvement operations in the North of England. Nick Page joins Edison from Knowsley MBC where he was Service Director for Transformation in Children's Services.
Nick's eighteen years in education and children's services include spells teaching in secondary schools in London and the North of England, before he joined Knowsley MBC in 2001. The local authority moved from 23% 5 A*-C to 50% in the course of 6 years, gained Beacon Status for transforming its secondary education, an Ofsted grade 1 rating for 14-19 provision, and a national reputation for the vision and management of change through the BSF programme.
"Nick Page has a great deal of very practical experience in tackling and solving educational problems both in the classroom and at a strategic level," said Mark Logan, Managing Director for Edison Schools UK. "We're very pleased to have appointed Nick to lead our expansion in the North, where we have already encountered a lot of demand for the services Edison provides."
"Edison Schools is unique in its holistic vision for educational improvement, and the range of programmes through which it helps schools and local authorities achieve it," said Nick Page. "The popularity and success of Edison's work in schools on improvement, personalised learning, and curriculum development is testament to the strong educational focus underpinning everything the company does, whether in Academies, BSF programmes, school partnerships, or research."
