Edison Schools UK Limited (the 'Company') processes all personal data in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998. The purpose for which the data is processed are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office ('ICO') - the enforcement body for the legislation. This register takes the form of an entry in the Public Register of Data Controllers. This register is available at the ICO website www.informationcommissioner.gov.uk.
The Company is also aware of the obligations of all the public authorities, with whom it has a professional relationship, under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
The personal data the Company may hold will only be shared with third parties if the Company is required to share the data by UK law, or as part of the contracted service. It will only be shared if to do so would protect the data subject from potential harm and/or distress.
None of the above affects the individual's rights under the Data Protection Act to request a copy of the personal/sensitive personal data. Requests must be made in writing (email is acceptable) to the Data Protection Officer. Please note that the Company reserve the right to charge £10.00 for handling such requests
