Who We Are

Edison is a people company. We work with people, and our own people are our most important asset. As a provider of frontline educational services, it's the educational credibility, experience and concentrated expertise of our personnel that helps us deliver really effective training and guidance ­ where it matters.

Mark Logan, Managing Director
Before his appointment in October 2004, Mark spent 11 years with Serco Group plc, where he was most recently the Director of Serco Learning. He also led Serco's response to the government's "Building Schools for the Future" initiative, and undertook a broad range of general management activities over his tenure with the company, including strategic direction setting, business planning, acquisition and post merger integration, international expansion, P&L management and employee development.

Paul Lincoln, Education Director
Paul taught in secondary schools for nearly 20 years before joining Essex LEA as a schools inspector. He has held a variety of posts at senior management level including Director of Education in Essex ­ an LEA praised by OFSTED for its leadership of schools. He has worked on a number of national advisory groups including the National Advisory Group for Special Educational Needs, the National Education Research Forum and the TTA's Headship Training Advisory Group.

Helen Todd, Achievement Adviser
During a career in education that extends for over 30 years, Helen’s wide experience includes working as a headteacher for 19 years in three primary schools in Essex, followed by three years as a Senior Adviser for School Development with Essex Advisory and Inspection Service. Helen is also an accredited OFSTED Team Inspector, an accredited facilitator for the NCSL’s ‘Head for the Future’ programme, an accredited NCSL consultant and a life coach. Specialisms include leadership and management, approaches to teaching and learning including drama in education and special educational needs inclusion.

Sue Kerfoot, Design Architect and Family and Student Support Specialist
Trained as a primary teacher and educational psychologist, Sue has led Educational Psychology services in Barking and Dagenham and in Essex where she went on to be the head of Special Educational Needs services for the county. Sue believes that special educational needs and school improvement are two sides of the same coin and sees the Edison approach as a powerful way to ensure that schools achieve success for all their students. In recent years, Sue has initiated an extensive research project into early literacy and co-developed a highly effective early literacy programme (ERR) based on this research.

Jonathan Miller, Family and Student Support Adviser
Before joining Edison, Jonathan was county manager for the primary behaviour support service in Essex, the largest service of its kind in the UK.  He is an experienced trainer and advisor at both local and national levels.  Originally a primary school teacher, Jonathan has experience across the primary and secondary eductors and brings to his work extensive experience in his specialist areas of SEN and student support, leadership and management and behaviour management.

Tim Nash, Head of Partner Schools
Tim taught as a secondary science and technology teacher before moving into the field of Educational ICT, where he worked in a number of ground breaking programmes including major networking projects and development of classroom-based interactive technologies.  He has also worked in an international capacity in the field of film and broadcast technologies where he led the international development of one of the markets most innovative organisations.  Tim was one of the first members of Edison Schools in the UK and is a member of the management team.
