Edison is sponsoring an entry in the Plymouth to Banjul challenge, a charity offshoot of the famous Paris-Dakar rally.

The team is raising money for a school in The Gambia, and to tie in with their adventure, we've produced a free primary curriculum unit based on the sights, scenes and science of the journey.

The unit integrates study into geography, languages, Music, Science, DT, RE, Maths, ICT and PE. And there's a competition for children to design a backpack for Ed, the friendly crocodile who's going as part of the team to visit his African relatives. First prize: a video camera.
